David Hatcher's experiences in Nepal

Last autumn, ShelterBox responded to help communities who had lost their homes to flooding and landslides in Nepal, a country famed for its rugged, mountainous terrain.

The disaster had wiped out much of the country's roads, bridges and other infrastructure, which meant that the only way to transport ShelterBox aid was by boat and on foot.

In this video, ShelterBox response team volunteer David Hatcher shows us how the team worked with the local police service to complete the 13 mile trek to the village of Kunithari, in the Surkhet district of Nepal, where families had been living under tarpaulins after their homes had collapsed.
