Beschreibung:

The goal of the project is to increase the capacity for emergency medical response in the Donetsk region by donating a mobile surgery unit. The recipient of the donation will be Charitable Foundation "Protection of Ukraine", while the beneficiary who will be operating the unit on the ground, will be the local field medical unit of the Armed Forces. They have a stationary field hospital, but lack the mobility to be able to save lives and improve the quality of life of the wounded. They rescue about 80-140 wounded people every day, with a team that consists of specialist anesthesiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiac surgeons, general surgeons, trauma surgeons and neurosurgeons. Since the first hours after injury are critical for stabilizing the patient, and most of the amputated limbs can be avoided by providing help in time, this mobile surgery unit will help save hundreds of lives.

After initial market research, a suitable mobile surgery unit (a truck) was found on sale from the company Ambulancemed in Ankara, Turkey, for the price of EUR 91.700. RC Mödling is initiating an application for the district grant and for the global grant, putting together a couple of Rotary Clubs in Austria and in Germany to pool the resources and increase the chances to win the global grant. For this reason, a partnership with RC Kyiv International Business would be of benefit for the project.

The following role would be assigned to RC Kyiv International Business

- serve as partner on the global grant application prepared by RC Mödling.

- To this end, a symbolic financial contribution would be great, but not obligatory.

- provide support in terms of local expertise: if necessary, help with structuring the local contracts of donation to the charitable foundation in Ukraine; and exercise general oversight to verify that the donation has reached the right recipient and is being used according to the purpose of the project.
